Pena Family | Christmas Family Film Session
A Family Film + Photo Session
When you are in the midst of life with young littles, it’s hard to imagine a time when your littles become bigs and eventually move out. There is all sorts of talk about bottling up the time you have with your young children but very little talk about what happens when they do become mini-adults.
When Yoanny asked me to make a family film for her wonderful family in Saudi Arabia I was intrigued by the challenge. She and her hubby have 4 beautiful children, all over the age of 10. In fact, her two eldest girls, Caroline and Ariana, are 20 and 17 years old, the oldest “kids” I’ve ever been asked to film!
What I love though, is that Yoanny gets it. Your family memories don’t stop just because your kids are grown up. While the days of diapers are long behind them, cooking together as a family and the girls doing each others’ makeup are new favorite memories.
I love that she wanted me to capture one of their last Christmases all together here in Saudi Arabia. Caroline in in university and might not be back again. Ariana is away at boarding school for a large portion of the year. And while Catherine & JJ are still home, their years with Mom and Dad are numbered. Yoanny wanted the time they have together, laughing, chatting, just BEING.. preserved. I’ve made sure to include a whole lot of their family conversations in this film and you’ll understand why when you see them interact. It makes me excited for my own kids to grow up.
I had so much fun hearing the conversations and laughter that is so evident in your family, Yoanny, thank you for allowing me to capture it.
